At The Lord's Church in Catonsville, Maryland, we are committed to the great commission, that is the Lord's test for the church in the church age and the Lord's plan for the nations (cf. Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:8).
We teach that the Sound Doctrine called Union with Christ is inseparably constrained to answering the questions, “what is the church?” and “who is the church?” (cf. John 15:5; Romans 6:5; 7:4; 1 Corinthians 6:15, 17, 19; 12:12; 15:22, 49; Ephesians 1:22, 23; 2:20-22; 4:15-16; 5:31-32; Colossians 2:7; 1 Peter 2:4-5; Revelation 19:7-9).
"If my life is fruitless, it doesn't matter who praises me, and if my life is fruitful, it doesn't matter who criticizes me."
John Bunyan
"A man with God is always in the majority."
John Knox
"Nothing teaches us about the preciousness of the Creator as much as when we learn the emptiness of everything else."
Charles Spurgeon

The Presentation of The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ: The Only Way to be Saved from the Wrath of God
Dedicated to the in-depth study and teaching of Scripture, illuminating the life and truth of Jesus Christ.
The New Testament teaches that the Church that is in a successful and healthy situation, even if it only has a few members at its local assembly, is the Church in which individual believers are consistently active in exercising their spiritual gifts to build up the Body (cf. Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Peter 4:10).
The unhealthy church is that church in which people who have the spiritual gifts are not exercising them. The NT teaches that every member of the Body of Christ has a spiritual gift or gifts. It is the responsibility of each individual member of the Body to come to know which gift or gifts they have been given by God the Holy Spirit. It is the responsibility of each individual member of the Body of Christ to exercise that/those gift/gifts which was bestowed upon them by God the Holy Spirit. The NT teaches that at the judgment seat of Christ each individual member of the Body will be judged concerning what they did in building up the Body with the spiritual gift(s) that they were given (cf. 1 Corinthians 3:11-23; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
The New Testament teaches that miraculous apostolic sign gifts (e.g. speaking in tongues, prophecy and miraculous healing) have ceased in the Church Age because their accomplished purpose was for laying the foundation for the history and spread of Christianity (cf. Ephesians 2:20; Hebrews 2:4). Now that the foundation has been laid, there are supernatural ministry gifts that are still given to the church for building up the Body.
